- What are Supplemental Educational Services?

Supplemental Educational Services are free tutoring available to low-income students
who attend schools in corrective action (Title I Schools) that have not made adequate
yearly progress based on the No Child Left Behind Act standards.

- Is my child eligible to receive SES?
-
All students in grades K-12 who attend SES schools are eligible to apply for BES
SES programs, as long as they fit the income eligibility requirement, which is based
on free and reduced lunch. Check your school’s district to find out which schools
are eligible.

- How do parents/guardians register their child(ren) for the BES SES program?

Parents should fill out the official registration form that your school district
will distribute.

- When can parents register their child(ren)? Is there a deadline for registration?

Registration for the SES program will depend on each district. Please contact your
school district for deadlines.

- When does the program start?

BES would contact you to inform you of the starting date for your program.

- When and where will the tutoring take place?

BES will conduct the tutoring at your child’s school after school, if the principal
agrees. If not, we will attempt to locate a place close by and provide transportation
to it.

- How many days a week and how many hours will my child be tutored?

BES provides tutoring two times per week for a total of at least 40 hours of instruction
for approximately 26 classroom sessions.

- What are the tutor’s qualifications? Have they worked with children before?

BES Educators LLC offers state certified teachers for READING, MATHEMATICS, OR ORAL
ENGLISH instruction for grades K-8. We also offer tutoring for high school students
in all major subject areas. Our teachers are experienced and well qualified in their
subject area, and most have masters’ degrees.

- What type of instruction will the tutor use?

BES provides small group instruction (from 2 to 5 students per instructor). We design
the instruction to meet the individual needs of each student. We tutor each child
in only one subject area at a time.

- What will your program do to improve my child’s academic success?

BES collaborates with parents to select the most appropriate tutoring program for
their child. In addition, test scores, student’s classroom teacher, and literacy
or math coaches provide input for selecting the best program and instructional level
of each student. Classroom teachers are asked to select skills on a learning plan
for each student. Both formal and informal communication occurs with classroom teachers
and parents throughout the program.

- Can the tutor help if my child has disabilities? What if my child is learning English?

Yes, BES works well for children with disabilities. We also have programs especially
for English language learners.

BES hires only the most qualified tutors because we expect the BEST. BES has only
state certified teachers. We take safety and education seriously. Our staff has
many years of experience, clean background checks and references from principals
and other administrators. BES wants your child to Be Excellent in School. To help
